Dashboard Update

A redesign of the user dashboard for Objego Portal in order to bring up the key data points for immediate availability to the user.
GOAL 1
To create a new light-weight dashboard representing the key data points and show relevant dynamics of the key metrics.
GOAL 2
To simplify the existing dashboard layout and bring up the modular structure
GOAL 3
Implementing the scenarios for users with various subscription tiers and rental objects and units.
Project Overview
With a an increasing portfolio and general complicity of German utilities and ownership and rental laws complicity the goal was to make the first touch point for the user interface of the portal as simple and intuitive as possible.
Major pain points
Huge variety of data points having various dynamics and conditional logic and lack of visual space.
Necessities
Clear visualisation of registered rental units, financial data and action items in connection to property management.
Good-to-have's
Deltas for displaying revenue and financial data point tendencies and additional trends and news categories.
Objego is a German company providing SaaS product which implements innovative methods for real estate management for landlords with small to mid-sized portfolios. While the platform's goal was to simplify the management and control of rental objects and units, the actual problem for the user was the lack of hands-on data showing particular financial and utility-related metrics as well as notifications, reminders and relevant tendencies for key metrics.

The current case study is dedicated to the full dashboard redesign epic including the design of both "must" and "nice to have" features for the further implementation prioritisation.
Research
TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE SCOPE FOR THE EPIC, WE HELD A FEW WORKSHOPS WITH THE PRODUCT TEAM INCLUDING INTERNAL DISCUSSIONS AND
DATA ANALYSIS OF THE PLATFORM TO MAP OUT THE KEY FEATURES AND "NICE TO HAVE'S"
In order to come up with right solutions for the user the team proceeded with a strategy of evolution instead of completely new UI where familiar and highly used features would be improved and would carry more value based on data visualisation. The modular structure was also considered the best by the team to fit the conditional requirements of different user accounts.

Main data points for the dashboard that were previously defined:

  • Subscription Upgrade Banner (conditional)
  • Financial Overview
  • Rental Income
  • Portfolio
  • Templates
  • News
  • Informational Banner for updates (conditional)
